Marcio Augusto Averbeck, MD, MSc, PhD, is a member of the Urology Department at Moinhos de Vento Hospital, Porto Alegre, Brazil (Neuro-Urology Coordinator). His main areas of interest are lower urinary tract dysfunction (both neurogenic and idiopathic), overactive bladder syndrome (OAB), female stress urinary incontinence, post-prostatectomy urinary incontinence, and videourodynamics. He was a member of the ICS Neuro-Urology Promotion Committee from 2012 to 2018 and now is working with the ICS Standardisation Steering Committee (as of 2018). Prof. Averbeck is particularly dedicated to the treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms in both male and female patients, and pioneered in the development of videourodynamics and sacral neuromodulation in Southern Region of Brazil.
