Tufan Tarcan, MD, PhD finished his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa School of Medicine (1991) and urology residency at Marmara University (1996). He completed his fellowships in adult and pediatric neurourology in the United States (Boston University School of Medicine and Boston Children’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School, respectively). He holds a PhD degree at “Histology and Embryology” and his main area of interest is “Functional and Female Urology” and “Pediatric Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction”.
Dr. Tarcan is Professor of Urology at Marmara University School of Medicine since 2006. He is also a Visiting Professor of Urology and Head of the Division of Functional and Female Urology at Koç University School of Medicine Istanbul, Turkey since 2013.
He is a member of the Urodynamics Committee and School of Neurourology at International Continence Society (ICS) and member of ICI Research Society and board member in EAU Section of Functional and Female Urology (ESFFU). Dr. Tarcan is currently president of the Turkish Continence Society (TCS) and associate editor to Neurourology & Urodynamics, the official journal of ICS.
