Dr. Jeanette S. Brown is Professor in the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) Departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences (Ob Gyn & RS: www.obgyn.medschool.ucsf.edu), Urology, and Epidemiology. In 1990, she founded the UCSF Women's Continence Center (WCC: www.ucsf.edu/wcc) and serves as the director. Dr. Brown is currently director of the ORWH/NIDDK funded UCSF Specialized Center of Research (SCOR: www.ucsf.edu/scor) on Lower Urinary Tract Function in Women, a collaborative group of basic and clinical investigators doing translational research on the female urethra, bladder, and pelvic floor. She is also director of the UCSF Clinical & Translational (C & T) Science Comprehensive Mentoring Program (http://ctsi.ucsf.edu), Vice Chair of C & T Research for the UCSF Department of Ob Gyn & RS, and co-director of the UCSF Women’s Health Clinical Research Center (WHCRC: www.whcrc.ucsf.edu). Dr. Brown leads a broad, federally and private sector funded program in translational research, publishes frequently in peer-reviewed journals, and mentors junior clinical and translational investigators. Dr. Brown’s primary research interests include: lower urinary tract function among women with diabetes, diagnostic tests, and evaluating effective new surgical and non-surgical treatments for incontinence.
