Peter K. Sand, MD, received his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Prentice Women’s Hospital, Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and a fellowship in Gynecologic Urology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Memorial Medical Center of Long Beach, University of California, Irvine. Dr Sand is currently Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. He is the Director of the Evanston Continence Center, Division of Urogynecology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, NorthShore University HealthSystem. He has founded two Divisions of Urogynecology and two Fellowship Programs in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. He has published more than 240 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and has edited two textbooks in Urogynecology. He is a Past-President of the International Urogynecological Association and Founder and Past-President of the Foundation for International Urogynecological Assistance. He has been recognized as one of America’s Top Doctors by Castle Connelley and Chicago magazine for the last decade.
